Baschi
Probably of Etruscan origins, in Roman age it was densely populated. The relics of this period are numerous. The castle was built between the 10th and the 11th century. Along with the free Commune the powerful Ghibelline seigniory of the Baschi family ruled, taking part in the struggles against the Guelph party. At the apex of its power this family owned 60 castles. Among the most important personages, Bindo and the count Ranuccio are to be mentioned. |
