Time for relaxation is an imperative in Relais Vedetta. This is why the communal areas too, both inside and outside the House, have been structured and furnished so that every moment spent in the portico or in the great park shall be pleasant to the extreme.

There is available to guests, on the ground-floor, a spacious drawing-room, where breakfast is served during the winter months. Here our guests may serve themselves with drinks at the honesty bar, open 24/24 hours. Outside, the portico surrounding two sides of the House has comfortable armchairs where guests can enjoy, in silence and tranquillity, the magnificent panorama overlooking the sea. A delightful, salubrious walk along the paths traced through the park and the private olive-grove is a valid alternative to the activities offered by the cultural, aenogastronomic and sports facilities offered very near to Relais.

Vedetta is situated at the top of Poggio La Forcola, 150 metres above sea-level; it is surrounded by 15 hectares of woodland and an extensive olive-grove, owned by the Family and at the disposal of Relais. At the top of our hill guests can enjoy both an incredible view and fresh sea-breezes at every hour of the day. A mere 4 kilometres away from the medieval village of Scarlino, the hillside location dominates the Gulf of Follonica, with its long, sandy beaches and fascinating coves. Nor is that all. Punta Ala is only 20 kms distant and after 40 kms you can reach Piombino where a regular ferry service takes you to visit the Island of Elba, a haven of luxuriant nature and clear, uncontaminated sea.

When leafing through her family album Anna Barberini recognized the characters which peopled the stories she was told as a child. Those “ Once upon a time “ are spiritually present today, in the six JSuites dedicated to her guests. Six characters, six worlds lived in according to their different lifestyles, memories, emotions, objects. This is how the concepts underlying each JSuite were born, ready to welcome whoever delights in becoming part of the sensations and atmospheres conjured up by the character represented.

Every detail in the Suites has been prepared with loving attention, in a careful melange between the antique – chosen from the patrimony of family furnishings – and elements from state-of-the art design, researched the world over. Together with a king-size bed (200x200cm), each JSuite has a living corner with sofa or armchairs and is equipped with every comfort for the ideal stay: air-conditioning, wireless internet, satellite tv, dvx-decoder, safe and minibar. The view to be seen from Vedetta is so extraordinary that even the bathrooms have windows to permit guests to enjoy the panorama at every moment during their stay.
