Recanati
Recanati is situated on a long and akwardly shaped hill at about 296 metres over the sea level, right in the middle of the valleys of the rivers Potenza and Musone. The Adriatic Sea is situated near to the town at less than 10 kilometres. For this reason the town of Recanati overlooks the sea like a terrace, with panoramic views also on the Appennine, some among the most picturesque of the entire Marche region. Being homeland of several notable men, such us the poet Giacomo Leopardi and the tenor Beniamino Gigli, Recanati maintains important monuments, palaces, churches, galleries, museum and libraries. |
