The stay was very pleasant, the suite is very
good for a stay in Palermo, for himself and
it is very near to the places of interest in
town. The host is very welcoming, and the home made breakfast ,including discussions with our host , excellent. Again many thanks for a very pleasant stay.

I stayed in Rome with my girlfriend for 4 nights and enjoyed the Amarcord. The people are very friendly and try to do everything they can to make the stay a nice experience. The B&B is clean and the beds are nice (and I am allergic to a lot of things and had no problems...also we switched rooms once because the first room was booked for another night...so my feedback counts for two rooms ;-) ).
This B&B is perfect for everybody, that wants to see a lot of Rome (walk to the Collosseum in 10-15 minutes, subway stations nearby) and needs a nice and clean place to sleep.
Would book the Amarcord again the next time I get to Rome, which I cannot say about all hotels or B&Bs I stayed in so far around the globe...
Thanks!

Yes, to us it is a 10.
We were welcomed as part of the family. We really felt at home from the beginning. Our room was very comfortable and spacious.
The whole atmosphere of the Agriturismo is warm, welcoming and friendly.
Concetta and Jim are just wonderful hosts and Concetta is a real "Cordon Bleu".
Her dishes were just delicious.
The area is beautiful and the view is just breathtaking.
The only "black point" is the parking area.
Thanks to Jim and Concetta we enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

We (6 persons) had a very pleasant stay at Amarcord. We liked the flat and its film-stars atmosphere and occupied three of its four rooms. So we had nearly whole flat in our use. All rooms were clean and nice.
The situation of Amarcord is good and all interesting places we easy to reach by foot, metro or bus. The central railway station, Stazione Termini, is also reachable by foot and it is only one metro stop away.

We are not "B & B People", because we normally prefer to keep to ourselves when we travel. Contrada Durano is like no other experience. The accommodations are beautiful and unique, the food is surely the best in the area and our hosts, James and Concetta go out of their way to make everyone comfortable and to feel welcome. The evening dining experience is especially engaging, and a lovely way to begin one's Italian holiday. Simply superb!

We had a wonderful visit at Ai Cartari. The location was fantastic for sightseeing in the old town on foot. The Bed & Breakfast is a beautifully restored building and the interior decorating is stunning and very comfortable. And our hostess went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It could not have been better!

Ai Cartari is absolutely beautiful, Lori is a wonderful host and she, and her little dog, made us most welcome. The rooms are spacious and elegant. The B&B is well placed to explore Palermo and Monreale and close enough to the railway and bus station and airport bus to make traveling out of town easy. We have stayed in Palermo many times and never been able to get a reservation at Ai Cartari, this time we were lucky. We wished we were staying longer and plan to return.

I booked Ai Cartari for a weekend at the beginning of July for Stewarts 30th birthday and we had a wonderful time! The location of Ai Cartari was perfect, close to lots of wonderful sights. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and filled with very beautiful furniture! We always like to stay in bed and breakfast accommodation rather than a big hotel as there is a lot more character in a B&B - and Ai Cartari was no exception. Really fabulous. Thank you!

Casa di Lia is truly a home in Rome. We have stayed there for nine years.
Lia is so accommodating and helpful. She speaks English and has been a friend. They have a menu for guests who wish to eat dinner inhouse. They also provided pickup and return to the airport. The neighborhood in which they are located is easy to reach from all areas of Rome and very quiet and pleasant. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. I would highly recommend Casa di Lia.

Also wirklich ideal.
When we looked for a favorable lodging for a week-end in Rome, we bumped on the Internet into the Bed and Breakfast of Lia. She announced herself immediately personally, thus we could book immediately directly about her. Everything went absolutely uncomplicated, and this, although 3 of us already arrived on Friday and 4 others followed on Saturday. The B&B order 2 practically furnished rooms in each case with own bath. In the bigger room stood one more additional bed, so that this thereby offered less place, but for sleeping it was enough always. Lia received us personally and very warmly, showed to us everything (including the roof patio), introduced us in the use of the Italian espresso machine and gave us valuable tips for our sightseeing tour. At the 2-nd night we were a total of 7 people and also this was no problem, in each case 3 in the double beds and one in the additional bed. (the flight from 2 of us had moved, therefore, we were so many). But also this was no problem for Lia. One could cook coffee to himself at every time of day and nighttime, do toast or eat cornflakes. In the fridge one might also deposit own things. All in all, an all around wonderful stay. The B&B lies close to Olympic stadium. To the bus station from where one to the Plaza de Popolo comes on foot these were only brief 10 minutes. So really ideally. Nearby there is a really tasty ice store and also the pizzeria in the street is the best! Our result: Very recommendable if there´s only a small budget is available and one searches just a nice overnight stay.

Serena is a marvelous hostess with a powerful sense of what it takes to welcome and relax you after a hectic day of travel. We enjoyed room 5, the family room, with calming blue decor, a private bath with lots of space for a Rome hotel, and a large outdoor patio.
As stated, Serena welcomed us on a hot afternoon with cool peach tea. A tray with gift boxed chocolate treats and champagne sat on one bed, and cold bottled water awaited in the mini-refrigerator. There was a flat panel television mounted close to the high ceilings and she sat with us for 30 minutes explaining the room and preparing us for a couple of days in Rome.
Serena's is not a full-service hotel. There are only 5 rooms, and there is a hall bath that might be shared. Imagine you have a wealthy Roman cousin who has offered you her place in town and you'll understand. You feel the place is your own - you have a set of keys (for the buildings outer and inner doors, the main door to the B&B, and your room) and you'll rarely run into another guest. The building is quiet and solid and feels safe, with a gated entry and strong metal shutters which Serena asks that you lock when out of the room. The neighborhood did not feel upscale, but neither was it frightening. We came and went at any hour and the streets were well-lit and busy.
Your walk to St Peter's square is about 20 minutes. If it's hot, you'll want to be sure to choose the side of the street in shadow. The closest city attraction is the Vatican Museum. Next closest is the east entrance of St Peter's Square. Anything else is easily accessible by metro, only one block from Serena's. If you're new to Rome, we recommend finding the bus stop directly in front of St Peter's Square and taking one of the double decker city tour busses. The red '110' busses were the most plentiful, which is good if you don't want to wait long for the next bus. We took the also-red CityTours Rome bus, which came often enough and had an interesting narration.
Serena has relationships with antico caffe Doria, just across the street and down about a block, for the 'breakfast' part of the B&B experience. It is a typical Roman cafe with fresh and delicious pastries and of course wonderful espresso. You are entitled to a pastry, espresso, and juice daily, and it's a great place to pick up a few bottled drinks for your day of walking in Rome. Upon departure, make sure to ask for Alex to take you to the airport. His charges are more reasonable than the car you arrived in, I promise, and he is a polite and friendly gentleman we were pleased to have met.
A Casa di Serena is charming enough (and being in Rome helps, of course) to make my top 10 list of places I have personally stayed in my life. It is unique, clean, comfortable, calm, and welcoming. On my next visit to Rome, I will spend at least 3-4 days with Serena, perhaps more, and will be sad when I leave.

I have travelled extensively, on six continents. A casa di Serena was better than we ever imagined.Beautifully decorated, it was like staying in a luxury art gallery. Attentive service, great location. Breakfast is served at a cafe accross the street. Nice people. Great coffee. Very accomodating. We arrived by car. Easy to find. Only negative was the bathroom, though private, was down the hall, outside your room.
I would highly recommend A casa di Serena!

We were very happy with our stay at Ai Catari. It is such a lovely house and the hosts are very welcoming. We stayed in the apartment downstairs which I can heartily recommend as you have your own door to come and go as you please.
My only criticism, and it is a very small one, is that the pastries that Rosie serves each morning for breakfast were so delicious that I couldn't stop eating them.
The B&B is in a fantastic location with some fabulous restaurants and wine bars literally downstairs.

The Armacord was a very safe, clean and pleasant B&B. It fit our rooming situation perfectly with 2 parents and 3 teens in 2 very spacious rooms. The building was centrally located to the subway, stores restaurants and the sights. Easy walking distance to the Colesium and forums and the subway takes you everywhere else! The bathrooms were very clean and well appointed. Our only issue was with the power going out for a short time but the response to our problem was very quick and corrected. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants good quality lodging at a reasonable price.

A clean room, a good bed and a working shower is all you need when everything else is in the eternal city ;-)
Breakfast was served at a very close bar: perfect cappucino (served as latte arte as well) and a very fresh croissant (cornetto). We're all told in our touristguides that's all italians have for breakfast: if you're more hungry in the morning you can buy extra cornetto's, sandwiches or whatever you like there also.
There is no "hoteldesk": if you have any questions you can call a number (of the owners I guess) who will politely and in english answer your questions and take care of your needs, although I did not need it. At your check-in you will be awaited (if you call the number on time) by a friendly man who cannot speak english, but with hand,
feet and french you'll manage :-)
Across the street is a good pizzeria (bad wine, good pizza's) and really just around the corner a good restaurant (Romantica: no it really is a restaurant) with decent local specialities.
If you're looking for loungerooms, someone to carry your bags, a candy on your pillow and paying over a 100,- a night: please look further. But if you want to stay in Rome because of Rome and need a decent, clean and cool (airco!) place to sleep and shower, and save money for the better restaurants & souvenirs, this is it!

Our staff is ready as well to help guests and to offer any assistance if needed. Thank you. The AMARCORD B&B Staff.

The room was clean and comfortable. Serena is so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the simple breakfast at the lovely cafe. The location is very convenient to the Vatican and the metro train stop is a short walk.
We did use the pick up service from the airport which Serena had arranged for us. We'd recommend that also.

We stayed at the B&B Amarcord for 5 nights in May and really enojoyed it. It is an apartment with several clean and cosy rooms (with private bathrooms). Our room was a bit small but quite enough to have a good night rest. And this is the only thing we needed after spending all day in Rome. The location is great! It took us only 15 minutes to walk to Colloseum. During our 5-day stay in Rome we used the subway only once - to go to the Vatican museums early in the morning. Otherwise, it was all walking. One thing I did not like about Amarcord - a breakfast. One cup of coffee and one croissant in the bar nearby. Just not enough for B&B!!! I wish we would have a tea pot in the room.
Otherwise, Amarcord was good. The owner is very friendly and hospitable.

And we do not want to cut on rooms cleaning, comforts, and mainteinance. Thank you for your feedabck, Tne AMARCORD B&B STaff

We thank Amarcord for our 4night stay. The location was fantastic, 4min walk to the metro and a bus stop right outside our bldg. The termini is just a stop away by metro that was convenient to make transfers. We enjoyed our breakfast in the corner coffee shop that serve the best coissant and cappuccino. We saw a book on Rome on the hallway that was left by one of your guest which we left behind also. This book helped us move around. The room was just right, small but comfortable (a ref would have been great). The toilet was tight but alright(they do have to fix the shower drainage, it floods after one use!). The aircon was a big help (it was 35 in Rome in the summer). Overall me and my daughter enjoyed our stay in Amarcord

The Amarcord was the perfect little bed & breakfast for our first trip to Rome. The neighborhood is safe and well lit. The very clean room includes a double bed, air conditioning (which is needed with the warm temperatures of June), and a bathroom en suite. The jovial owner greeted us at the door and despite the language barrier, he was able to help us find our breakfast location, determine how to work the A/C, and other helpful hints about our stay. The price of the room includes a delicious croissant of your choice and a cappuccino for breakfast each morning that can be ordered at the bar at the end of the block; this meal is perfect before beginning an exciting day of travels. The location is ideal because it is a 5-minute walk from the Metro A line (which can connect you to the Termini station or the Metro B line) and about 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. There are many delicious restaurants on the same block as the Amarcord, and it is easy to find a lovely Irish-style pub nearby to relax at the end of the day. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the quality of service at the Amarcord and highly recommend it to others!

We stayed at the Amarcord B&B during our visit to Rome and I must say we had a delightful experience. Our room decor was very Italian - with famous movie posters all around. Our caretaker did not speak English but his very helpful efforts made up for it - he even jotted down the address of our breakfast place since we couldn't understand it otherwise.
The B&B was very close to the Terminal and the Metro Ststion which made navigation around the city easy. The bathroom was big and spacious (only, there is no soap/shampoo available.. We got them at one of the stores nearby). Also, do not invest in buying a Roma map beforehand, the one that we got at the B&B was very decent to get around. All in all we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend the place. Thank you!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Casa di Serena. The location was wonderful. It is just a short walk from the metro stop and on the corner of a main street with a fountain and piazza nearby to help you find your way. Even though it is on a main street we heard no street traffic from our room and were able to sleep very comfortably. The B&B is located within walking distance of the Vatican and Vatican museums. Everything else is a metro ride away. By staying here we were more immersed in a true Roman neighborhood rather than a loud, stereotypical tourist area.
The B&B is gorgeous. It felt as if we were returning home every evening. It is located in a very well kept and secure apartment building which had an elevator (great for luggage!). The common area has lovely artwork and posh furnishings.
We stayed in the blue room with a double bed. It has a window that looks onto a balcony. The room and bathroom were spotless. The hair dryer and bath products were great conveniences. The champagne, chocolates and cookies were a luxurious little touch.
We can't wait to return. A presto! Luisa and Sergio

We stayed at Al Catari for 2 nights in May of 2009. We found the accommodation to be clean, comfortable and well situated for easy access to the sights and alleyways of Palermo. The host was friendly and helpful, providing maps and excellent suggestions for restaurants. The tea and cookies upon arrival were a nice touch. We had breakfast in the Piazza across the street which was very pleasant. We have no hesitation in recommending Al Cartari and would be delighted to stay again if we are ever fortunate enough to return to Palermo and Sicily.

We just came back from our holiday and we have nothing but good things to say about "Amacord".
The location is great, you get a very good value for the price, the staff is very nice and helpfull and the rooms are clean and convenient.
We had a great time staying there and it definitely had a big part in what made our vacation perfect.

Maybe, next time, I'll join you in Maranello to visit the Ferrari museum and to eat the delicious food they serve in that area. We wish you all the best. The AMARCORD Staff.

We are staying in Amarcord during 1 week .
It was very convient to stay here as it was the city centre and
all historical places were achived by step.
The good relations with staff.
So, the bed was enough satisfactory and good, but what about
breakfast - there is possibility to improve it.
In common, we can recommend this place , as we had feeling here
the historical environment , it was very important for us.
The best to staff

Amacord is a very friendly B&B. Our own housekey gave us the freedom to experience Rome our own way. Our room was clean and well designed room.
The breakfast was perfect and just around the corner.
The neighbourhood is very Italian, with nice bakeries, restaurants and shops and little tourists.
For us, Amacord made our Rome experience even more incredible!

Amarcord was very clean and quiet. We were met by a very nice man who did not speak English but we were able to communicate in French. The area felt safe though is a bit dingy. Breakfast was available down the street which consisted of a bun and coffee. The accommodation was adequate and reasonably priced considering the going rates. We did miss having someone around who could speak English and offer some assistance occasionally. On the whole it was just fine.

Dear Mike,
thank you for your message and advices. Actually we are trying to offer the best possible service and trying to keep the rates as affordable as possible. We want to offer the best of cleaning (daily), room decor and facilities (airconditioning, heating, safety box and ample en-suite bathroom) and quietness being in a strategically central position. As for the breakfast, it is possible, paying an extra, to have a continental plus breakfast. But, as I told before, we prefer to keep the rates down and then let guests decide if they want to put some extra on the breakfast or not.
We appreciate your message and your feedback, hoping to meet you soon again in Rome.

SPENT A VERY ENJOYABLE FEW DAYS IN THE ETERNAL CITY AND MY STAY WAS MUCH ENHANCED BY THE HOMELY ACCOMODATION IN THE AMACORD.IT REALLY FELT LIKE BEING IN A MOVIE,SO MUCH BETTER THAN A FACELESSS HOTEL .. IT'S WELL SITUATED FOR THE RAILWAY STATION,THE METRO AND THE TRAM..LOVED THE IDEA OF GOING TO THE LOCAL FRIENDLY CAFE FOR BREAKFAST [ALTHOUGH IN-ROOM TEA/COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES WOULD BE WELCOME] .. I REALLY RECOMMEND THE AMACORD FOR A 'DIFFERENT' ACCOMODATION EXPERIENCE AND I WILL BE BACK !!

We so enjoyed our four night stay at Casa di Serena. We were close to the Metro and a short walk from the Vatican. We liked that it was a quieter part of town but that we could easily get to the Metro to travel to other parts of Rome quickly.
The room was very nice. We were four meters from our private bathroom in the hallway that had a great shower, lots of hot water and many places to hang your clothes and towels (this always frustrates me when hotel bathrooms don't have places to hang stuff)
We didn't mind that we had to use vouchers and walk across street for breakfast it was fun to be in a local morning spot and people-watch.
We found a great "internet point" near the Cipro Metro spot only a few blocks away from the hotel that had fast, cheap internet. We were within walking distance to good eateries and gelato places. We would definitely return to Casa di Serena!

This is a fantastic place to stay in Florence and by far the best budget B&B I've ever stayed in in Italy!
It is right in heart of the city, very close to all the attractions and only five minutes walk from the train station. The room we stayed in was very clean and tastefully furnished with a large bathroom with complimentary toiletries - luxury! The room also had a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. There was also air conditioning which was a great bonus and a welcome relief from the heat of the city.
A more than adeqate breakfast was provided each morning in our room which really helped set us up for a hard days sightseeing.
Lastly, the staff at the Alloro were excellent, very helpful and friendly. We had a great stay there and will certainly go back to the Alloro next time we visit Florence.

The b&b was excellent. They make the most to please you and are very accomodating and flexible. They are not intrusive at all The property it situated just right between train station and the Duomo (5-6 mins from each). On foot it took me 1.5 hrs (without stopping) to travel ALL the main spots on that side of the river. Prices are reasonable too. Next time I will go there for sure.

My wife and I actually stayed at Alloro B&B from Dec 26, 2008 to Jan 4, 2009. We found Alloro to be secure, clean, comfortable, and very accessible to the center of Florence. We were only about a block and a half from the Duomo. The continental breakfast was enjoyable, though non American, and the coffee was great, as were all Italian coffees we sampled.
Cristian, the concierge, and his assistant, were very accomodating and helpful in making daily plans and reservations.
We would recommend it to our friends and anyone else looking for that kind of lodging. It was a charming and relaxing place to stay.

Casa di Serena is a great place to stay when you want to explore Rome. It is like having your own apartment in the city. The place is nicely decorated, clean and the people are nice. They respect your privacy and it is so much more romantic than a hotel room. (And less expensive too).
Thanks again for making Christmas 2008 unforgetable!

This is an excellent bed and Breakfast! We stayed 2 nights in the "red room". The room was beautifully decorated and one of the best rooms we have stayed in, ever!
Lots of space, nice breakfast area in the room, a couch, huge windows and a BIG bathroom as well!
A nice collection of Wine bottles with glasses, which we made a point to use. Continental breakfast was good. We had requested an earlier than usual breakfast - which was accomodated.
Great location: 5 minutes walk from the SMN train station, few minutes walk from the Duomo, and Uffizzi and San Lorenzo. Would higly recommend it!

Me and my father planned to stay in Palermo for one night, but we felt so welcomed in Ai Cartari, that we decided to make it three nights!
Not only the suit was spacious, comfortable and VERY nicely decorated, but the atmosphere was very warm and homelike! Not to mention great location, in a very centre of the old city.
If I was ever to be back to Palermo, I would definetely come back to Ai Cartari!I highly reccomend this B&B!
