Casa di Serena is a great place to stay when you want to explore Rome. It is like having your own apartment in the city. The place is nicely decorated, clean and the people are nice. They respect your privacy and it is so much more romantic than a hotel room. (And less expensive too).
Thanks again for making Christmas 2008 unforgetable!

This is an excellent bed and Breakfast! We stayed 2 nights in the "red room". The room was beautifully decorated and one of the best rooms we have stayed in, ever!
Lots of space, nice breakfast area in the room, a couch, huge windows and a BIG bathroom as well!
A nice collection of Wine bottles with glasses, which we made a point to use. Continental breakfast was good. We had requested an earlier than usual breakfast - which was accomodated.
Great location: 5 minutes walk from the SMN train station, few minutes walk from the Duomo, and Uffizzi and San Lorenzo. Would higly recommend it!

Excellent service and hospitality! The room and bathroom were well furnished! The pictures and the information page in web site are accurate. They provided walking maps and various brochure information on Rome as well as restaurant recommendations. In all we were very pleased and would not hesitate to return. Thank you Serena!

Me and my father planned to stay in Palermo for one night, but we felt so welcomed in Ai Cartari, that we decided to make it three nights!
Not only the suit was spacious, comfortable and VERY nicely decorated, but the atmosphere was very warm and homelike! Not to mention great location, in a very centre of the old city.
If I was ever to be back to Palermo, I would definetely come back to Ai Cartari!I highly reccomend this B&B!

We had a wonderful stay at Ai Cartari. Rosa and George could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Rosa was always on hand at breakfast to chat and answer our many questions about things to see and do and about life in Palermo. Our room was very spacious and included comfortable chairs to relax in after a day of exploring. Ai Cartari was in a very central position for all our site seeing needs - only 10 mins walk to the train station and 2 mins to many buses.

We spent some lovely days in the eternal city of Rome ...
As a daily starting point, the Casa di Serena is a good place; it's close to the metro station which is a big advantage.
The welcome was very friendly and warm and we feld immediately at ease and were happily surprized by the little bottle of sparkling wine! Though breakfast is simple and not in the Casa itself, just walking a hundred meters over the daily market and having a real Italian coffee amongst the Italians is a very nice experience. We were happy to find some tourist information in our nice romantic room... so we can easily recommend Casa di Serena to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very considerate and polite and helpful.
The location was close to bus or subway which got us where we wanted to go quickly. There were 5 in our family so the rates were very fair for that amount of people in Rome.
we even got breakfast! We would have no worries about booking there again. It was very clean.

WOW...as an American who had planned this trip before the global meltdown I felt no guilt whatsoever at being pampered at La Papera by Federica and Fabio because of its extremely reasonable price...good exchange rate helped too.
La Papera is located very conveniently in the district of Garbatella and is within easy walking distance to the Metro so you can get anywhere quickly. Within the neighborhood are internet/phone shops, ATMS, pharmacias, profumerias, and good restaurants recommended by Federica the very hospitable hostess. She also has a good supply of guidebooks and materials you can use to acquaint yourself with Rome.
The B+B apartment itself is very attractively decorated, the room large with good bed, lots of closet space, nice bathroom and patio, and the breakfast very generous and varied.
My stay was 13 days and every day I enjoyed returning to the quiet haven of my room after sightseeing all day. This is a big PLUS in busy Rome.
Federica has mastered all the essentials of innkeeping and staying at La Papera was both an affordable/luxurious way to enjoy Rome. Bravo!

What does an "8" mean? This numerical score is a guess, because we base it on insufficient comparative data to be persuasively accurate.
Our hosts were very cordial and welcoming, and spared no effort to make us comfortable. The house is well done, a labor of love for the owners, and provides an interesting glimpse into living in Palermo's core. We can recommend this B&B without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Ai Cartari. What a quaint and friendly little B&B. Rosa and her husband could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She saved us by helping with our travel arrangements when they became a problem.
One suggestion for improvement would be to figure out a better arrangement for breakfast. Going to the local coffee shop is a very hit and miss proposition.
